There is an advantage to parliamentary democracies in that bigots, racists, anti-Semites, homophobes and Neo Nazis can all have their own little individual parties to play in in, while here in our two party American system they are all forced into the big tent of the Republican Party.
But then again, without that same working class bigotry the GOP would lose their base and be nothing more than a party of Wall Street bankers having cocktails at the country club complaining about the 47% of lazy blood suckers. Who strangely enough are made up mostly of their own base.
