John Oliver describes how Trump – and his ilk, like Roy Moore are using an old Soviet propaganda tool, ‘whataboutism’ to muddy the waters in discussions and avoid taking responsibility for their actions and words. Trump uses the technique in sync with delegitimizing the media and his proudest achievement – trolling. As if one sick clown utilizing the techniques isn’t horrible enough, ‘but what about’ and ‘fake news’ are coming out of the Oval Office and being used universally. .
