An Idaho man with Mark of the Beast was “Told” by the Bible to remove his own hand with a circular saw!

“And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. Better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”
Combine this passage from the Book of Mathew with the next ditty from Revelation, it spoke to one young man. “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury.”
Kootenai Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call Saturday, finding the man who had taken the scriptures to heart. When deputies arrived they found the man calm, if in gruesome condition. It seems that after reading the scriptures earlier, he decided that he bore the mark of the beast on his hand. Feeling he had no other option he then amputated his hand with a circular saw. After partially cooking the severed hand in the microwave, he fashioned and applied a tourniquet before calling police.
. He is now in protective custody in the mental health unit of Kootenai Medical Center.
This bizarre incident could be thought to exemplify what happens in all faiths and creeds when the mentally unbalanced of varying degrees hitch their theosophical wagon to a book, then proceed to take it literally – according to their own interpretation. In this case only one man was harmed, and obviously mental illness played a large part. We’ve seen what can happen on a much larger scale when that man leads a group, church, or even a nation.
