Miss Utah Marissa Powell’s Zany Answer In Miss USA Pageant Goes Viral

Miss Utah Marissa Powell's Zany Answer In Miss USA Pageant Goes Viral Clever Minx demonstrates America's educational failings Miss Utah, Marissa Powell accomplished a great deal during her participation in the Miss USA Pageant. In many ways she has eclipsed winner Miss Connecticut Erin Brady.  Not only did the ravishing beauty from Utah place third in the nation and launch this wildly viral video, she spoke memorably on the subject of education, and our urgent need to push it to top priority in the United States.

The actual question posed to Ms Powell by judge NeNe Leakes was as follows:
“A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?”

Some believe that Ms Powell ‘flubbed’ the answer. Nothing could be further from the truth, I am here to defend her!  Ms Powell skipped the obvious question of wage inequality and what it means to society. Instead she lobbed the ball back into the educational court, where the clever minx demonstrated the urgency with which we should address education, as follows:

“I think we can relate this back to education, and how we are continuing to strive to,”
(long pause here) “figure out how to create jobs right now. That is the biggest problem. And I think, especially the men are, um, seen as the leaders of this, and so we need to try to figure out how to create education better so we can solve this problem. Thank you.”

And I’ll bet you thought the Newscat claws would come out and I’d be snarky on the topic of asking beauty pageant contestants complicated questions…How little faith you have in me. We ask Republican Congressmen don’t we – and we should expect a little more from them. For that matter, they don’t even put much effort into looking presentable!
