shoefitiShoefiti is the term to describe those tied together old sneakers you may have seen dangling from wires above the street. The city council in Newark, New Jersey is on the problem with city workers in cherry pickers on a shoefiti removal program. Many question what it all means. Though it comes from ancient Islam to express ones dislike of one thing or another – shoes representing the bottom low of a person – here in American it’s up for grabs what it’s all about.

Prank? Gang borders? Drug dealing nearby? Or as one who lives in a Newark shoefiti neighborhood believes, prostitution?

I have a set of these things down the street both directions in my all White, all Republican Dumbass exburb. It sure seems to me I am being pointed to. I have to discard drugs and gangs which leaves prostitution. So a few months ago when I first became aware of this issue, I asked my wife if she was selling her ass when I was away. The result was the same as answering the "Does my butt look too big in this?" question wrong. I picked up both shoes she had flung at me, tied them together with one of those free dog leashes and swung them up on the wire out front. The picture on the left is what it looks like a few months later.

Shoefiti could very well be the danger sign for a violent woman nearby.
