These websites reflect our effort to make history fun by filling them with graphics, videos, music and the sounds of the times.
Rather than a hodgepodge of decade wide information we approached the project year by year, each including seven categories: History, television, movies, music, sports, books, comedy and technology. Beyond the nostalgia, these sites are popular with teachers who gvie them out as links for the students to access to write reports and papers. Take a trip back in time. To the year you were born, the year you graduated or got married. Memories are made of this... |

Stupid people are wonderful, they just shouldn't be in charge of anything.
I beg to differ. These voter ID laws are required at the voting booth. Which is the reason for it in the first place. The economic parasites in our system may get registered easy enough by the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, but registered voters do not matter. Voters are what matters, and of course we should discourage the economic parasites NO MATTER THEIR COLOR from participating, they contribute nothing. It also helps to reduce early voting. Especially on weekends.
I don’t know why Republicans are shying away from this. Of course we don’t want leeches and parasites voting who are all Democrats. OF COURSE WE WANT TO KEEP THEM FROM VOTING.
No Mr. Jite. It’s about some form of proof of citizenship to be required when registering to vote for the first time or getting your name on a ballot for the first time. Almost all of us have some form of picture ID and a Social Security number. Do you really want non-citizens having a say in the direction of this country?
Oh come on… This is about birth certificates and picture IDs for NEGROES! I know it, you know it, and every person in America knows it. Thing is no one likes hearing it… It especially gets Republican’s dander up. And we can’t have that because they have all the money, all the God and all the guns… Its a bummer.
Not really. But it’s a moot point for now. If he ever decides to run again, then bring the issue back up. Since we’re so busy asking Romney to produce his tax returns, why not also require him and Ryan to produce their birth certificates (or some other proof that they were born in the US).
No one cared? Well then start.
Want me to look up Sarah Palin’s birthplace, too?
Glad you asked. She was born in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Idaho is a US State, so it must be American Soil.
Gnite.
Are you sure McCain was born on the base and not in a hospital outside the base? You are missing the point. No one cared enough to bother with a WHITE republican president candidates birth certificate. Or a Stupid white woman for that matter.
Are you a stupid white woman.
Coco Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone, August 29, 1936.
If these websites are accurate, then John McCain was indeed born on US Soil.
I believe military installations in other countries are considered American Soil.
The Panama Canal Zone was under United States Control in 1936.
Gosh, John McCain was not born on American Soil. DId you make a stink about him? Barack Obama WAS born on American Soil. But you do make a stink about that. What could that be about I wonder.
Yeah, I am very good at naming that tune on ONE NOTE!
We never asked voters to produce a pictuure ID before. There is no ID fraud at polls. And the laws are only being passed in Republican and Confederate States. And those disenfranchised from the vote just happen to be Hispanics, blacks, under 25 and over 65 and the poor. Hmmm…. hehehehe…. Thing is about you people is the rest of us are not as stupid as you want us to be.
In fact that is much of the problem. Stupid ugly people jealous and angry of smart, educated and better looking liberals.
I can make stinks of only so many people at a time!
I didn’t know that John McCain was not born on US Soil, and if it’s true then he should not have been on the ballot.
I never said that the current President was not born on US Soil.
I never advocated having to show ID at the polls, only when registering to vote. Something. Anything to prove that you’re a citizen. Doesn’t have to be a drivers license.
You have to be at least 35 and born on US Soil to be eligible for the Whitehouse.
Past Presidencies are water under the bridge, but I fail to see what is wrong with requiring candidates for office (starting with Romney and Ryan if that makes you feel better) to produce their birth certificates. They’re not difficult to acquire. All one has to do is request one from the courthouse in the county of birth.
And why do you automatically assume that I am for VOTER ID. You shouldn’t jump to such conclusions. Of course, in my case, it’s true (hee hee).
On that note, is it too much to ask for proof of US (and State) citizenship of a person registering to vote for the first time or registering in a new jurisdiction? How would you like it if I flew into Dumbutt and voted in your City Council election without proof that I live there?
May I ask a stupid question?
Why would anyone be interested in Mitt Romney’s Tax Returns?
The thisistherealanswer is to show regular middle class Americans how the filthy rich, use offshore accounts, tax havens, and high paid tax lawyers to avoid paying taxes which regular people cannot avoid. Not showing his tax returns also helps in showing regular Americans that he is of better class of people who do not have to do what anyone tells them to do. they are way way above such things.
The notsorealanswer would be: For the same reason Republicans want to see Obama’s birth certificate – not the fake photoshopped one from the state of Hawaii, but the one in Donald Trumps fart of a brain.
If there was anything suspect in his tax returns wouldn’t the IRS have called him on it by now?
As for the Birth Certificate issue, I think that anyone aspiring to run for any office at any level should be required to produce a birth certificate, have it witnessed and recorded on the date that it is produced. That way there’ll be no question.
That is, BEFORE her name can be placed on the ballot.
No, this is not about tax cheating, its about the filthy rich with their gang of lawyers AVOIDING taxes that the rest of us cannot avoid. AND… Romney’s belief that the rest of has no business in his business. He is of a class above. That’s what will lose him this election.
Well that is what Hawaii and the president produced. Now there is some new Birther game? About witnesses and birth date submissions! Yer real up on this swill…
Let me guess, 100% backer of VOTER ID!
