What is it that can get humans to strap TNT to their bodies and kill themselves and so many innocent women, children, babies and fetuses nearby? What is it that can get a nation to behead 60 people a year? What is it that can get nations to bury women up to their breasts in the sand and have their town folk come stone them to death? What is it that can get 90% of Egyptians to agree that executing those guilty of using apostrophes is the right thing to do? [thank you Emily Letilla] What is it that can get people to assassinate a dozen cartoonists? What is it that can get people to deny science, facts, logic and reason? What is it that sanctions most of the bigotry and intolerance in the world? What is the driving force behind Islamic extremists and Christians who shoot doctors in the back?
We all know the answer to all those questions, but here in America any politician looking to get elected or any media outlet wanting share cannot and will not speak that Truth and that Word. Well other than HBO once week and a few tiny websites.
