Seth takes a closer look at how one of President Trump’s closest associates pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to the FBI and how Republicans forged ahead with a radical plan to slash taxes for corporations and the wealthy. On Friday, Trump sought to clear himself by claiming he fired Flynn because Flynn lied to the FBI, and found he’d admitted to obstruction of justice. Trump’s best legal counsel ‘cleared’ his client by claiming authorship of what he called ‘the sloppy tweet’ himself. They are so bad at this!

Republicans pushed their tax bill through, with last minute scribbles in the margins and words cut off by copy machines. Wealthy donors are ecstatic. Everyone else should feel violated, although according to Senator John Kennedy we can ” just get an easy chair and a can of beer and just watch the economy roar.” A vision not symbolic of prosperity.  Seth, recalling Trump’s words to the Coast Guard recently: “If you’re someone who voted for Trump just remember; ‘You never know about an ally, an ally can turn.”
