Surprise! There is a core affinity between self consumed narcissistic megalomaniacs who do not give one wit about anything or anyone other than themselves. But I have to give Trump one thing at least, unlike Kanye he has not yet claimed he is God.
I do not like rap music, I came of age in the golden age of Rock and Roll with extremely innovative musical talent like Chuck Berry, Beatles, Stones, Led Zepplin, Hendrix, Dylan and so on.
Rap music is just Disco dance music with the bass turned to 10 and better lyrics. But there is little if any musical talent involved. What instruments to Rap artists play? Where’s the melody? Where’s the hook? Where’s the up and down in tempo and rhythm?
I looked into the popularity and money in different genres of music. What a runaround. Here is a graph from 2016. Now in 2018 with streaming having increased by more than 50% Rock and Rap are even at about 30%.
But as you can see from the graph there is an enormous flaw in the numbers by joining Hip Hop and Rhythm and Blues. TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS.
SITTING ON THE DOC OF THE BAY and PUT YOUR BOOTY IN MY FACE are not the same genre. Neither are THE TEMPTATIONS and NIGGAS WITH ATTITUDES.
I also learned on my rap travels this morning that rap is the preferred genre of sociopaths and psychopaths. That those who consume it are way above average in purchasing fashion, accessories and jewelry. [Perhaps the three things I most abhor in this ever shallowing world.] Oh, and they like Chevys more than Fords.
