Texas State Board of Education Don McElroy Revises Text books to vindicate Joe McCarthy

This coming Friday is the final vote on the Dumbutt, Texas State Board of Education’s new standards for History and Social Studies text books. A textbook market so large that many many other states will be adding the Texas version to save a buck in these tight times.

If you recall, earlier this year TSBE member Don "The Dentist" McElroy was stripped of his chairmanship of the board. For being so embarrassingly mud dumb stupid. Then in the Texas Primaries McElroy was defeated by a different crazyass Texas Republican.

But IN THE MEANTIME McElroy is still on the board and plans to get a few last licks in before the vote come Friday.

If you recall two years ago as a young Earth creationism (less than 6000 years old) he and his fellows on the board tried to get the new form of creationism – intelligent Design – into biology classes. Though they failed here in Texas most teachers just skip evolution to keep their jobs. Earlier this year he and the Republican Taliban factor on the board replaced Thomas Jefferson with John Calvin as an enlightenment philosopher. Calvin was a contemporary of Martin Luther who in 1530 defined Calvinism as knowledge comes from scripture. As oppossed to Jefferson who believed knowledge comes from applying reason to observation. Too radical for Don the Dentist.

The first of his latest amendments is the Ann Coulter driven revisionism that Senator Joe McCarthy was unjustly accused when in fact he was a great American hero, and McCarthyism a wonderful time in America! Really! BTW, Lena Horn was at the top of the McCarthy Blacklist.

McElroy also has another amendment removing the concepts of "justice" and "responsibility for the common good" from the textbooks. Gosh… and the majority of Texans and Texas teachers are all for this Dark Age swill. It is why Sarah Palin is so beloved the more South one goes. Stupid is as stupid does… More on McElroy’s last stand by Houston Chronicle columnist LISA FALKENBERG.
