March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a hang-over, if you’re celebrating all three of the special days on Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You list this week. Much appreciated are spring break, Mardi Gras and Saint Patrick’s Day, because they help some to stagger through the gloom of March in a drunken haze.
Far from merely writing thank you notes, Jimmy’s Friday ritual has turned into party with puns, topical humor, improvisation and a hot sax that gets tossed from The Roots to Jimmy and Higgins who all pick up the instrument in turn, and jam a sizzling solo.
The things on Jimmy’s thank you list are too numerous to name – besides where’s the surprise in that. Oh, and kids – be sure to pay attention to which of your teachers just shows films on the 18th. While a dark room is comforting, they might appreciate an aspirin and an ice pack too.
