5 Misconceptions about Latinos, Joanna Rants
1) Latinos are not all Mexican. There is Latino food beyond tacos, burritos and tequila. Only 65% of American Latinos are Mexican followed by Puerto Ricans at 9%, and then Cubans at 3%.
2) Not all Latinos are hot skinny brown babes with bubble butts. Many Latino babes are overwieght brown babes with waists the same distance around as their hips.
3) Not all Latinos have fiery personalities – with they possible exception of when the cable guy comes late.
4) Not all Latinos are Religious Catholics. Only about 70% are. In fact some countries, like Guatemala are primary evangelical Christians.
I have two positive things and one horribly horrendous thing to say about traveling in Guatemala. A quetzal is a dollar, no need for doing constant math in your head. The basic food is pot roast and potatoes which is a nice changeup from a few months in Mexico. And finally it suffers us all the worst thing in all of Central and South America, hard liquor is non existent and beer is very hard to come. While in Mexico there seems to be a cervesa frio every 50 feet or so.
5) Latinos are not Spanish! The double standard confusion of language to nationality. I am American and I speak English, but if you call be English I will shoot you with a gun.
