When I walk down the street, have lunch alone, or take pause for any number of reasons I look about, think on things and daydream quite a bit. In fact spending so much of my life on the road, my favorite pass time has been guessing what that thing is on the back of the flatbed, and what it does. Or what would happen if one of those big rolls of steel comes undone on the interstate.
I get more than enough internet every morning doing this so have no need to take it along with me wherever I go. I find no use for a smart phone or even a cell phone unless I am flying.
Yelp? I already know where to go, what to buy and where to get it. Navigation? I know where I am and where I am going. Texting? Don’t get me started. Facebook? Don’t understand. Twitter? Traffic? I am in no hurry. Whatsup and where am I? None of your business.
Instead of the smart phone I talk to people live and in person. Well people who are not holding a smart phone in front of them anyway.
