The GOP has only itself to blame for the crazy pickle they find themselves in these days, what with fawning over talk radio and Fox News that has been feeding the right-wing frenzy now for a generation. They now find that candidates far to the Right of Ronald Reagan are too moderate to get nominated or in fact elected.
I was struck yesterday by a full page ad here in the Houston Chronicle for Republican Carl Pittman running for the far right-wing white vote for Sheriff, with big endorsements and pictures from Joe Arpaio and Ted Nugent but no picture of Carl anywhere to be seen. Why would that be ya think?
