You may know chef and food ambassador Anthony Bourdain from his Travel Channel show ‘No Reservations.’ He is here to talk with Keith Olbermann after the startling prediction that by the year 2030 one half of the people in this country will be obese. This is a very difficult week to fight back and deny the science.
We’ve seen the introduction of battered fried sticks of butter as ‘fair food,’ which I believe means we have now deep fried everything. Michele Obama’s suggestions about healthy eating have been met with horror – as if the evil government intends to enforce nasty tasting food that is ‘good for you’ and take away your Snickers – which are likely to be battered and deep-fried anyway, if the mood strikes.
The battle between Bourdain and ham-slapped Paula Deen continues. The mistress of the deep fryer snaps back that not everyone can afford $58. for a prime rib and $650. for a bottle of wine. Obviously she’s never seen his show. The point is, that people all over the world make the best of what they have to eat, and unlike Americans, actually sit down together and eat it! We have become the drive-thru diners of the world, and it shows.
