The ‘No-God Squad’ is playing defense today, because there are a lot of dumb ideas floating around about them. Note please, I said the ‘no God Squad’ and not ‘anti God’ or ‘God hating’ to describe them. If religious people are looking for an enemy, they may have to seek from within their own broad tent. Atheists are not an organized group or front. They have no shared beliefs, no handbook for comportment, no messiahs, sages or saints. Because they don’t gather together, they lack the support of a ‘church home’ but are seen as a cohesive mass seeking to destroy believers everywhere! In most cases, you – and they can’t recognize another Atheist. To my knowledge they have no variant on ‘Gay-Dar’ which helps them locate fellow Atheists. It’s lonely and disorganized out there, without the added hate which comes from having misunderstood beliefs and intentions.
