With the Creationism debate heating up, and more people climbing aboard the pet dinosaur bandwagon, I thought it was high time to to revisit Bill Maher’s visit to the Creation Museum. According to the museum exhibits, man lived peacefully in the Garden of Eden with his dinosaur pals. The museum rejects overwhelming evidence showing that dinosaurs died out millions of years before mankind walked the earth…And who wouldn’t want to reject such thinking? It’s much more fun to envision a peaceful garden where Adam and Eve might saddle up their faithful dino for a ride. It occurs to me that the cheerfully awful eighties song “Everybody Walk the Dinosaur” may be further proof of their claims.
According to the Creationist guides, and Rational Wiki, all dinosaurs were herbivores in the Garden of Eden. When some smarty pants asks why T. Rex had six inch long serrated teeth, the guide will explain that those were for opening coconuts…Now that’s a handy pet! Since Bill Maher’s visit they have added dragons to the creatures which existed at the same time as man. Gosh, I hope unicorns and wizards aren’t far behind!
