Some of the very funniest and most memorable – and therefore most effective ads have been banned. Meanwhile the most annoying and simple minded ads play endlessly, and heaven help you if you don’t have TEVO or another way to help you breeze through the ever lengthening commercial blocks!
On the bright side, the best and occasionally some of the most risque’ ads live on in compilations like this wildly popular one from ‘YesFunnyYes’ that you’re about to see. While some of these ads are admittedly risque’ it is a mystery as to why others have been banned. These commercials often have a great plot line, and one can relate to them. Who hasn’t wound up red-faced after believing that someone speaking directly at you, is speaking to you – when in truth, they are speaking to someone on a phone not clearly visible?
A clever ad about the perils of changing a tire (or tyre) by the side of the road is not risque and is in fact, rather clever.
You’ll see old friends like the hilarious Mastercard commercial, where an amorous, wine emboldened boyfriend presses his luck – and the house intercom. This one is truly “Priceless.”
There is a very clever vodka ad, which shows how a rather domineering housewife can have a career at home, and manage to get the housework done and dinner waiting when her husband returns home.
You may remember some of the Bud Light ads, which do not seem to be naughty enough to be banned. The same goes for some AXE commercials and Doritos, where you never know who – or what you’ll attract!
There is even a bit of nostalgia.
“A whistle, a wink & Wildroot gets her every time.” That one was not banned.
This is just the tip of a very entertaining iceberg. Perhaps you too will see some new ads as well. I hope you’ll find them to be entertaining. They are often certainly more entertaining than the program they would have interrupted.
