. “This Ohio abortion story is like a penis, the more you look at it the worse it gets. Stop trying to haggle, this is my body not a used car.” Michelle Wolf saying it as well as can be said.
Sure Governor John Kasich vetoed the Ohio Heartbeat Bill which both the Ohio House and Senate voted for, but he knew, as you know, it would never have got out of even the first district appeals court, so he settled on no abortions after 20 weeks, which will probably take it up a few notches to some federal court before it’s overturned. For now. Because very soon with Republican gerrymandering of both the state and federal Houses, they will have control of both state and federal courts of 36 states, enough to change the constitution.
On this issue, like so many involving religious dogma, there is no thinking anything out, or retrospection, or even logic.
So many times both personally and from afar I have heard some Pro Life woman say that they are fully against abortion though they themselves had a safe low cost abortion long ago.
So one might ask, as I have, do you think that had you not had that abortion, you would have been a single mother, would not have met your present husband, and your 14 children you love so much would not exist?
“No I don’t think about that.”
Do you think about your selfishness and hypocrisy in denying all other women other than yourself the same opportunity you had to make a wonderful life and family for yourself?
“No I don’t think about that.”
What do you think about, if anything?
I find this the case with much of religious dogma, specifically creationism which half of Americans accept with no intellectual ability to think it through. I have found it to be an intellectual hurdle concerning large numbers. Something they just can’t grasp. Anything over five digits or 9,999 is just beyond them. The reality of time and space are not their forte.
Same with so many of the quiet Trump voters who say they did to save the econony that sure Trump will make corporations and the wealthy even wealthier but that will help us all! And the person asking the question never says, you realise of course that Ronald Reagan did just that and tripled the national debt. And George W Bush did that doubling the national debt and destroyed the world economy. In fact the only time we came out of the red was under Democrat Bill Clinton.
“I don’t think about that.”
