As you can see, Alfred Decker loves his dog so it’s all okay.
I would also like say this national story happened less than 10 miles from where I am sitting here in Dumbutt, Texas. This is a hotspot for very ugly things. Also within 10 miles of here we gained national attention when Pat Robertson bought hundreds of battery operated blow horns so the parents of the Santa Fe, Texas could PRAY THEIR LOUD ASSES off at their high school football games without using the government owned PA system. Let’s not forget Joe Horn who shot two men who had burgled his neighbor’s home on a sunny day. He shot them both in the back with a 12 gauge from about 10 feet, one of their heads was blown off. He became a hero. And of course right around the corner here Andrea Yates drown her 5 children because God told her too.Unlike with old Abraham God was a bit slow on the joke part of it. But hey, we all make mistakes…
This is not so much about Fire Department Captain Alfred Decker as it is Texas. After all he represents most white people here (you can quote me on that), it is the citizen and mayoral response to this that proves that point.
It began 6 years ago when Alfred Decker, wearing fireman’s clothes, arrested and handcuffed Kathryn Fridge at the local Walmart for saying. “They are fking out of batteries.” It made him so well liked in the La Marque community he was promoted to Fire Captain.
On February 1st of this year this picture was upfront on Alfred Decker’s Facebook page. Nothing more white Texans enjoy more than calling for a national holiday after lynching a black President.
Then on February 2nd they found a quote on Alfred Decker’s Facebook page calling Houston’s gay mayor Anise Parker a “fkg ct” which is of course not as bad as “they are out of fking batteries!” Which he arrested a woman for saying.
Then on February 6th Alfred Decker refused to allow a man of color to go into his burned out home to retrieve personal belongings before Decker had it demolished. After that he was suspended with pay.
Finally they had a disposition with Alfred Decker present to decide what to do. Decker doubled down and refused to apologize for any of it. Only after that slap in their face to the city was he fired. I expect there to be a parade for him soon, or at least a Tea Party event to honor him.
What I hope everyone outside Texas or the South for that matter takes away from this is the two responses you see in the video. The man on the street and the mayor both made no mention of what this is about, they only warned people to be careful of what they say on Facebook.
On the bright side, even Democrat Wendy Davis who is running for Governor is backing legislation that would allow us all to go to our local bar – NBA game,or rap concert – to see Alfred Decker doing shots of Wild Turkey with a .44 magnum in his hand.
Texas, no place for children.
