Sharklumbo! Fumbling detective will eat you. Don’t underestimate sharks in the room, or from personal experience, in the boat.
True Shark Story:
Hooked up to a rig about 30 miles out of Galveston. My boy and I on a 22 foot boat. I put the rod up to jump in the water and snorkel the rig to see the reef that rigs becomes. Suddenly from the depths up came a green 14′ Hammerhead. I assume some sort of skin algae bloom. I hid behind a pipe and slowly made it to the side of the rig the boat was on. It was only about 50′ from the piling I was at to the back of the boat, but it had taken note of me. I had no fins so it was going to be a slow dash. I came as close to walking on water as possible. I made it! The boy saw it behind the boat and put a live chicken Mia Mia on the big Penn and it hit in a swirl of green foam behind the boat. After all of 10 minutes we got the monster up side the boat, all of 4′.
“Dad, you said it was 14′ if it as an inch!”
“There must have been two green hammerheads!”
“Yeah right Dad…”
“Um…everything looks bigger in the water!”
