Sorry for some serious business here but this is one of the best speeches I have ever heard which all of us had best take note of. Here is the excerpt that caused even me to tear up.
“Because when this is over I’m going to go into my son’s room — my black son, who wears his pants sagging, wears his hat cocked to the side, got tattoos on his arms, but that’s my baby.
And we all ought to be thanking the Browns for Michael Because Michael’s gonna make it better for all of our sons so they can be better black men. It will be better for our daughters so they can be better black women. Better for me so I can be a better black father. And we know they’re going to make our mamas even better than they are today.” Ferguson police Capt Ron Johnson
This is not really about Michael Brown. This is about African Americans at the end of their ropes (so to say) over the treatment of their President for the past 5 years, with this same kind of police harassment going on in every African American community, with every Red State suppressing their vote and the yank of that rope (so to say) being when anyone brings any of that up or calls attention to it, all they see and hear are a bunch of angry white faces telling them there is no racism anymore, it’s all just racist African Americans playing race cards. It’s all Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson’s fault.
It the roles were reversed there would be thousands of white militias in the streets with assault rifles and .50 cals to take care of the tanks.
