Bilbo Baggins has completed his journey and must now find his way home. How thoughtful of Gandalf to give Bilbo an iPhone5 to help him navigate his way back to the Shire Wilshire. The thing is, Bilbo is having a few problems, and he’s not alone! Reports have come in from all over the globe from travelers sent in the wrong direction and to dead end destinations since Apple dropped google’s mapping date for their own in September.
Police in Medura,Australia recently warned visitors that using Apple Maps could be potentially life-threatening. The warning comes after travelers trying to reach Mildura, Australia, a city of 30,000 in northwestern Victoria, instead found themselves in Murray Sunset National Park in which there is no water supply and temperatures regularly reach 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Some were stranded for 24 hours without proper food or water. Of course of interest to me, they were surrounded by every venomous type of creepy crawler Australia has to offer during their misdirected adventure. Thanks Apple, I never would have driven here voluntarily!
