When we moved down to Dumbutt so long ago, the hottest thing going in America was Urban Cowboy and Gilley’s. I spent lots of time at Gilley’s. Within a few months I learned the most important lesson in living down here in Texas. Cowboys don’t say much because they don’t know much.
I too love small town values.
A job at either Walmart, a handyman with a pickup and a stainless toolbox in back or joining up and off to war with the National Guard.
Everyone knows who and where the minorities are – if there are any.
Where sex with animals is a step up from being a homo.
And of course the big one, getting your crank refill in the same Dairy Queen parking lot as everyone else.
