Gun advocates and ‘normal people’ may agree (for once) on this absurdly funny video which attempts to show gun advocates how they sound to so-called ‘normal people,’ and they do it by setting up bizarre situations completely unrelated to guns.
I realize some gun advocates may not care how the other group hears them, but it is a step toward mutual understanding. From discussions I’ve seen, it appears that all ‘normals’ sound like “blah blah blah confiscate the guns,” to those who embrace their firearms with fierce tenacity and love. It should be noted that the word confiscate is rarely – if ever used by the allegedly normal. As ‘they’ say, when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail. Perhaps when you love a firearm, everyone wants to confiscate that weapon? If you listen closely, that may not be what they’re saying at all.
You may relate to the man in the video whose wife questions his motives for taking a snow shovel to work on sunny spring day. It’s clear to him that “somebody’s gotta be the good guy with a shovel.” Cinching the argument, he asks, What if there’s an avalanche? ” It could happen.
No one wants to confiscate, we’d all just like to improve gun safety.
