Amy Schumer hilariously takes on agism with the help of Patricia Arquette, Tina Fey and Julia Louis-Dreyfus…Who are women of a ‘certain age’ (or frankly no longer f**kable ) according to the Hollywood patriarchy.
The trio are having an idyllic picnic in the woods when Amy stumbles upon the festive party, and learns the shocking news that they’re celebrating Louis-Dreyfus’ “Last F**kable Day.” She explains: “In every actress’ life, the media decides when you finally reach the point when you’re not believably f**kable anymore.”
Aghast, Amy learns that no one tells a woman the bad news, but there are signs. Tina Fey explains, “you know how Sally Field was Tom Hank’s love interest in ‘Punchline’ and then about 20 minutes later she was his mom in “Forest Gump?” It virtually happened overnight!
There are other general signs such as wardrobe, which becomes a long sweater that covers you from head to toe. Roseanna Arquette says “another sign is when they start remaking your movies with younger, more f**kable actresses. I hear Selena Gomez is going to be remaking ‘Boyhood.'”
Amy asks “what about men, who tells them when it’s their last f**kable day?” She is greeted with raucous laughter. The short answer is ‘Never.’ but a much more entertaining one awaits you from Tina Fey
.The ladies are amazingly cheerful, and why not – there are certain compensations; the freedom to chug ice cream, burp, fart, guzzle champagne and smoke cigars…And no more Brazilian waxes! Amy is honored to watch the ceremony as they send Louis-Dreyfus ‘Home’ in style.
“Inside Amy Schumer” took on the good ol’ boy’s network in Hollywood that perpetuates the myth that women are no longer sexy or valuable after the first blush of youth fades, and knocked them out in one brilliant and entertaining round!
