Finally, the drink for when you’re ‘up for whatever!’ A lot of people are ‘up in arms’ over the ad, and feel that it has ” a certain rapey feel.” Many think the ad suggests the golden nectar can be used like a liquid Roofie – or as Bill Cosby’s house beer. In other words, a lot of people are talking about Bud Light.
As John Oliver sees it, Budweiser needs to fix the slogan and the ad to better reflect the product. Sober people are capable of remembering that Bud Light actually tastes like ‘water streaming from a gutter full of dog pee,’ to name only one comparison. You have to watch the video to hear all of the others. At last, the ad and the beer are now in equally poor taste.
