As an old artillery officer I have always had the ass about movies that use fiery gasoline explosions to simulate the real thing which is most always a white flash and brown dirt.
But I chose this video to review a few animated movies I have watched this year with my new 2 year old granddaughter.
The Croods – 10 stars, moves right along and is slapstick funny.
Coraline – 10 stars, other worldly and a bit scary with the button people.
Finding Nemo – 10 stars, beautiful, funny and moves right along
UP – 10 stars, a dog movie with a cute relationship between a boy and a grumpy old man.
Wall-e – 9 stars, cute with a nice story.
Peter Pan – 9 stars, Disney fun, lots of kids and Tinkerbell is a real treat with little girls.
Frozen – 1 star. an animated vehicle to push an endless array of songs for little girls that make men want to shoot themselves.
By far the one that can keep a toddler quiet over and over again, perhaps a 100 times over, is Finding Nemo. I have the entire dialogue in my head. Second in the repeat department is The Croods. Fast moving, no lag long enough for a toddler to lose interest.
I found old Disney movies a bit too dark for little kids, especially Snow White and Pinocchio
