“I don’t want my hard earned tax money going to those lazy bums living downtown somewhere.” A nice way of defining the core of American politics.
Some things cannot be said even though we all know the thing is true. Well as NEWS anyway, opinion pages aside.
I think it was Chris Matthews who explained it best when he said he could not call an individual he knew to be a racist a racist because no one knows what is in another man’s heart. BULLSHIT. But that is the rule of objective journalism. Thank God we have non of that here.
A case in point. I am a Green Bay Packers fan. Sunday in the Detroit game at Lambeau Field, Detroit Lions linebacker Ndamukong Suh stepped on a downed Aaron Rogers’ ankle, stepped it on again, and lifted his other foot so all his 307 pounds of weight pushed down on it. He has done this kind of thing often, he is known for it. Adding to that, Ndamukong Suh knew that no matter the outcome of the game, his team would be playing the Packers in the playoffs and it sure would be nice to knock the best quarterback in the league out of that game.
But we do not know his heart. Much like the OJ Simpson trial, journalism did not know Mark Furman’s heart. But the jury did.
I happened upon this sports video that plays to this very issue. BTW, Suh was suspended for one playoff game in Dallas next week, but will be back at Lambeau Field to step on Aaron Rogers again two weeks from now. And lose.
