Nation Elects First Openly Drunk Senator
In the 1990’s I became a fairly avid CSPAN addict because of Republican Congressman B1 Bob Dornan who quite often took over the CSPAN cameras in the afternoons to do what are called Special Sessions. I remember a few classic hours of he and Sonny Bono doing a mutual admiration society gig that caused me to once wish a tree would interfere and put an end to that crap once an for all.
I was often taken off my feet by the degree of bigotry, racism and hatred Dornan could extrude from the floor of congress. Often with spittle flying through the lights, the FWORD accompanied by shoving and pushing and calling other congressmen out for fisticuffs. In the years he sported a full beard it was usually filled with spit, drool and whatever he had last eaten as he ranted and raved twice knocking over the podium.
It was not until he lost his election to Ms Sanchez,and was thrown off the floor of congress where he lobbied for a new election and was later interviewed in his car one night out front of his home – screaming that a bunch of Nuns were responsible for his election loss – that it all became clear. Bob Dornan was a drunk. Which I should have figured out as he had been arrested a few times for beating his wife and did fly 4 jet fighters into the ground (never in combat).
It is okay now because he is a popular syndicated Republican talk show radio host out of California.
