And now for something sacrilegious. Do you have a Caganer in your manger scene? I hadn’t heard of him either. This cheeky little figurine is guaranteed to get you out of the Presbyterian Christmas decorating committee, lickety split!
Jimmy Kimmel takes us to Spain, where a 17th century Christmas tradition is guaranteed to grab your attention. Adults hide a little figurine in a nativity scene, then the children have to find it. This sounds sweet until you find out that the figurine is pooping! The figures, which have looked the same for centuries, are taking on a disturbing international look, so it may not be long before we too hide a little bare bottomed political figure in the manger.
The mystery remains – what were they thinking back in the 17th century when this all began? A search left me confused and none the wiser. Any ideas?
