A new social network called Ello has recently launched, and Jimmy Fallon weighs in on the pros and the cons of belonging to ‘The anonymous Facebook’- assuming you are asked to join the invitation-only group. The exclusivity certainly weeds out loners, cat ladies and unpopular trolls who’ve worn out their welcome on political forums. Ello has the potential to be a little slice of internet hEllo for the less social netizens, who could really use a fresh start.
For those who make the cut, imagine this – there are no ads. None at all. Wait – is that a plus?
Oh, this one definitely is a really big selling point in this era when nothing is private. Ello assures you total anonymity!
Jimmy describes how our thoughts, interests and online activity are completely anonymous and cannot be tracked or traced in any way. Or – as the NSA put it, “Bitch, please.”
Once past the golden gates, you are free to recreate your anonymous identity, which brings another selling point to mind. Hey kids – your parents won’t be there! Or will they? Remember, they’ll have complete anonymity too! The possibilities for family misunderstandings and um…Complications are endless.
Just imagine the possibilities – because Jimmy sure has! Speaking of complications and possibilities, Higgins has returned from an outing with a new men’s social club…Whom I assume he met on Ello. He seems to be wrestling with mixed feelings about “Is, Is” – apparently they ain’t the Shriners.
