As a "webmaster" I have years of experience on the phone with GoDaddy.com. Though help is fast, given in solid English and pleasantly chatty, one is forced into listening to jazz recordings from the 1930’s on the hold.
When GoDaddy owner Bob Parsons is not pushing conservative politics or
having a blast shooting elephants in the back, he is forcing his customers to listen
to Dixieland Jazz. The few songs endlessly repeated are horrible recordings full of long pauses and strange noises making one think the "associate" has picked up. Jazz as a genre has less than 2% of the American audience. Two Percent.
Every call I have made over the years, which is surely hundreds, the first thing I say to the "associate" is that the hold music is the worst pile of crap I have ever heard in my life. Play some CCR or the Beatles which 98% of people like rather than 2%. You can move the decimal point over on to the left for young people in the website business.
After years of complaining, I am sure I am not alone, one now has a choice "Press Star for no music".
See YOU can make a difference!
