Lawrence O’Donnell, who was once fortunate enough to spend time with screen icon Elizabeth Taylor speaks with Kevin Cole, who pays tribute to Taylor’s pioneering work advocating for AIDS, and the formation of AMFAR at a time when AIDS was not taken seriously by the government and many who were ignorant of the true nature of the disease. Her pleas to congress went a long way toward taking AIDS seriously, and providing funding for research.
Debbie Reynolds joins O’Donnell to speak about the glamorous legend of the silver screen with the gorgeous violet eyes – and I presume Debbie would assent, good taste in husbands, since Reynolds ‘borrowed’ one who belonged to Liz at the time. Despite the gossip in her day, Elizabeth Taylor not only embodied glamor, sex appeal, and beauty, but buckets of talent as well, she will be missed.
