As you can see, Sarah Palin did get her opportunity to sit in arch-rival Katie Couric’s chair on the ‘Today Show,’ and I’m certain it was everything she dreamed it would be. What you haven’t seen is what occurred on-air the day before. Lauer made a phone call to check-in with Palin on-air, cleverly advertising her appearance the next day. One assumes he was painting a cozy picture of Sarah in Alaska having a cup of coffee and just chatting in her animal-head strewn living room. The scene set, Lauer invited her to talk about ‘things other than politics.’
On cue, Palin heard the word ‘talk’ but the rest of the sentence was apparently lost on her. It was painfully obvious that Sarah Palin wasn’t going to be caught off-guard on Couric’s turf this time around, and began a mile-a-minute spiel about – politics – or rather, rapidly listing things that are related to politics.
We now have a rather solid idea of how telephone solicitors are dispatched at the Lauer home.
