If you have command, from a Captain of a company to the President of the United States responsible for all the men in your command, and it is you who write or sign the letters to the families after one of your men has been killed, the use of drones is a Godsend. Drones also terrorize the terrorist which they more than deserve making them think twice about what they do. There is collateral damage of course, but so are machine guns, grenades, mortars, artillery, missiles, ships, and the biggest killer on the battlefield, oh it’s HI HI HE IN THE FIELD ARTILLERY! Drones are not the real issue, the War on Terror is what should be questioned.
As to the slippery slope. I do not argue that point any longer. It is too full of Rush Limbaugh. We had a county sheriff her in Texas recently be offered a drone for his department and turned it down as just something too intrusive. And that was just for speeding and replacing helicopters. And in Law and Order Texas no less…
