Another example of some really dirty nasty stuff is how a human being could want to bury the story because it makes HIS pals look bad. That such suffering and evil policy SHOULD BE suppressed by HIS government. What could drive such a disgusting morality and repellent sense of values?

Regarding "Syphilis testing in Guatemala draws U.S. apology" (Page A1, Saturday), what possible reason is there for the Obama administration to report that American scientists deliberately infected Guatemalans with syphilis 60 years ago?
I don’t see how admitting to something this reprehensible is in America’s best interest. It doesn’t make sense. Who digs up dirt on themselves? Some things are better left alone.
