Going to Trump supporters for advice on normalcy is on par with asking a temperance preacher to tend bar, but Bassem Youssef seeks to further understanding by asking Trump supporters what Muslims can do to make them feel safe, and to help themselves fit in. The resulting advice is certainly a slice of America, I just hope it’s a small one.

According to one man, Muslims need to stop with the ‘big, fake smiles’ because they’re awkward and uncomfortable, and make them look like terrorists. Muslims, he added, need to ‘lighten up.’ If I’m following, Muslims need to ‘lighten up’ – but smiling is an absolute no-no.
Is it any wonder that Trumpians on the world stages are thought to be like ” the sh*t stains on America’s tightie whities.”
I don’t know Youssef’s religion. However, it can’t have evaded the notice of the often-racist respondents that his skin color and slight accent indicate Youssef wasn’t born in Jersey. In fact, he could even be a Muslim for all they know. Would learning that fact embarrass them, do you think?
I don’t think so either, but I’ll bet someone would have said ‘but you’re one of the GOOD ones!’
