Summer is fun for Yankees, but we in the South and Southern California get sick of it by the end of June. Up North they have to condense a year of fun into just three months, some places in the Midwest do a damn good job of it too.
Every town in Wisconsin has at least one liquor store that sports a easily towable refrigerated trailer that holds ten half barrels with two sprockets on each side, and free o take on your card and then pay for just the tapped barrels the next morning. No need for tubs, ice or waiting in line.
There is one problem though. When there are only three of you left at three in the morning and a barrel fizzles, two want to tap another one but the guy who’s paying is still up. That’s when someone notices that the Coppertone bottle on the picnic table says it has 20% alcohol and out come the shot glasses. 40 years later I still have that taste in my mouth. I am the beach.
