American Health Care Act, Catheter Cowboy ad for Trump - John Oliver

The Republican health care bill could leave many Americans without affordable coverage. Last Week Tonight’s catheter cowboy returns to morning cable news to explain that to Donald Trump. Oddly, the “new health care bill” is the only thing – ever, that Trump hasn’t wanted to put his name on. For that matter, no one else is clamoring to be tied to the bill. They just want it passed immediately.  Perhaps Trump is distracted elsewhere, but it’s possible that he  realizes that this plan is the opposite of what he promised people on the campaign trail.

Ironically, of the approximately 15 million Americans who will lose their coverage, many fit the demographic of a Trump voter. Republicans have certainly dotted every ‘i’ and crossed every ‘t’. Those thoughtful Republicans may have a skinny bill, but they’re thinking of everyone. If a low-income person is on the healthcare plan, and is lucky enough to win the lottery – out they go!  What, no penalties for the 1% when they happen on to a killer investment?

We’ll all be rooting for the Catheter Cowboy, on Wednesday morning his ad will be shown on Fox & Friends, in hopes that The Donald will see it and get the message. Trump had better get the message, the Cowboy is not using a garden hose instead of a catheter…Right Donald?
