The Wilshire Gun Range in Oklahoma City,OK now has a liquor license – why did it take so long? Congratulations on your unique hot spot for date night, Oklahoma City! Patrons can get a bit to eat, load up and fire off a few rounds then get loaded at the convenient bar. The city council voted 6-3 for a liquor license because of some basic freedom or other. It’s kinda fuzzy, but I’m sure there’s a basic right to liberty and happiness involved here somewhere.

At 40,000 square feet co-owner Jeff Swanson says Wilshire Gun will be a full-fledged destination. “As a group we wanted to build a place, the first one in Oklahoma, where you could go in, shoot, enjoy the retail area and then go to the café,” he said.
The plan for the gun range includes 24 firearm lanes, 10 archery lanes, a simulation room, classrooms, VIP Lounge, and a cafe. The gun range intends to serve food and alcohol in the cafe. Folks with the range insist it can be done safely. They say they’re working with several ranges from California to Texas who have never had a problem.
I know what you’re thinking – but it’s perfectly safe. They’ve covered all the bases and no problems will arise from mixing alcohol, gun powder and societal misfits, because they have a system, you see.
To assure that people will shoot then drink – in that order, your license will be scanned and red-flagged once you order a drink. At that point you won’t be allowed into the shooting facilities as a spectator or a shooter. Surely no one would think to carry alcohol in surreptitiously in one of their many Velcro pockets!
We all know there is no one more cooperative than a drunk toting a gun, I see nothing but sucess using this new foolproof system!
