Conan’s Holiday Movie Reviews: Hobbit, Lincoln, Brad Pitt & Anna Karenina

Conan O'Brien reviews Holiday movies: The Hobbit, Lincoln, Anna Karenina, Killing Them Softly, Skyfall

Conan has some bones to pick with “The Hobbit,” “Anna Karenina,” “Lincoln” and more…But only in the nicest, most constructive way possible!  I agree with Conan’s one complaint about ‘The Hobbit.’ I struggle to remember names at gatherings where people wear name tags, therefore, I too find the cast of characters Bilbo meets in his long perilous journey to be a chore.  Conan helps us all by introducing us to a few of these – um folks,  in this clip.  Trust me, you’ll be glad – I suggest you take notes!

“Killing Them Softly” with Brad Pitt  ‘needed crowd control’ according to Conan.  Not that I’m easily distracted, but Hey! Isn’t that ‘Dead Dad’ from ‘Six Feed Under?’ Pull them over, so we can get a better look!   Unless you were a fan of the oddball series ‘Six Feet Under’ that comment will make no sense to you, and reveal far too much of me.

‘Anna Karenina’ This beautiful, lush Russian classic has been updated for younger audiences, something which ruins it for sticklers. Anyone Twerk?!!

Finally – but certainly not least…”Lincoln” – is a must see! (I imagine)   Speilberg’s  moody and pitch-perfect subtlety sets the stage  to the inevitable ending – yet doesn’t give too much away.  It  certainly wins the award for  gritty authenticity and attention to detail!
