If there was any one moment at the convention in Philadelphia last night, it was Sarah Silverman telling the Bernie Or Bust boo-chanters “You are being ridiculous,” which would not have happened as it came from Sarah and Al Franken having to ad-lib because songwriter Paul Simon couldn’t find vocalist Art Garfunkel. Had Art walked out it would have brought the house down like no other moment in convention history. Where was he anyway?
Speaking of which… Even without Garfunkel, what a song, what a time and place to sing it, the very antithesis of the Republican convention. What a great Hillary ad or great Youtube video it would be to juxtapose clips of Rudy Giuliani, Chris Christie, and the LOCK HER UP chants with Paul Simon singing the greatest healing song ever written, in fact the 48th greatest song of all time. Someone needs to do that video.
