For a generation Democrats have been hiding under their beds no where near on par with the hate and vitriol from Republicans. If you doubt that, tomorrow during lunch get in your car and listen to as much of Rush Limbaugh as you can stand. Understanding that what you hear has been going on from Mr. Limbaugh for 3 hours a day for 25 years AND is now copied and thrown to the airways, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but hundreds upon other Right-wing syndicated talk shows and Fox News. There was NO effective Democratic response to any of it until 6 years ago when MSNBC hired Keith Olbermann. The hard Right had a free ride for 20 years. If you cannot manage to get listen to Rush over lunch, try tunning in Michael Savage live in the evening if you really want to hear hardcore racist Republican swill. After just a few minutes it will be clear than the Right still beats teh Left in vitriol by about 10 to 1.
