Okay, so the Sarah Palin who made the stripper joke at the "Restoring America" Tea Party rally in Indianol, Iowa, technically wasn’t cardboard, but she certainly was outnumbered by cardboard cut-outs of herself. It was a touch of brilliant forethought as the crowd was sparse and the cut-outs filled in the spaces with beaming smiles.
The life-size dolls also provided some amusement for rally attendees, who dressed them in T-shirts and other garb, so it didn’t appear to be an army of red suited clones. On another creepy note, presumably fun seekers could then take the dolls home.
The long awaited stripper joke showed her disregard for polls, at which she lingers at the bottom. Her big rim-shot joke was "usually polls are for strippers and cross country skiers." She also promised to keep things ‘classy’ and as we all know, anyone who has to say it, doesn’t display that attribute. It would have been the perfect time for a presidential announcement, but it was not forthcoming.
