Jon Stewart: White House Petitions now set to 100,000 signatures, Sasquatch

Sasquatch petitionThe amount of signatures needed for a White House response has been increased to 100,000, but is grandfathered as you can see with the Sasquatch Petition. If only more people would pay attention to this great idea by going to the site to see all the worthy petitions. I picked one of the more serious petitions. Well not so much serious as one of the few that is not about Right-wing lunatics venting their anger at that black guy.

We petition the obama administration to:
officially recognize the Sasquatch as an indigenous species and have them lawfully protected by laws banning any hunting

The Sasquatch is an indigenous species living in American forests, and should be lawfully protected from harm, including being hunted, trapped, or killed. Severe penalties should be legally enforced with fines and jail time for anyone harming, trapping, or hunting this unique rare species.

Created: Jan 11, 2013
Signatures needed by February 10, 2013 to reach goal of 25,000 is 24,246
Total signatures on this petition 754

A long way to go but I am sure with the high intellect of rural Americans this one should pass if only FINDING BIGFOOT reality show would get their views on board.
