Our spies, snipers and executioners are brave heroes while their spies, snipers and executioners are evil cowards. As a Green Bay Packer fan I understand that, it’s how I feel about the Chicago Bears. But what makes me a bit different than most is I understand just how fked up crazy that is. It is also why for 30 years I have been praying that no one lets Mike Ditka anywhere near a gun.
There is confusion on what to call ISIS, ISIL, al Qaeda, Islamic extremists, Islamic terrorists, abortion bombers, pro life doctor murderers and so on. It is understandable that the President and many well meaning liberals do not want to define the problem as ISLAM as that will only accomplish what Fox News and talk radio are set upon doing, generate more bigotry and hate directed at all Muslims good or bad. So what to do?
I do have the answer to that problem though. I have a little known literary hero by the name of Ambrose Bierce who was a San Francisco contemporary of Mark Twain. Ambrose was a journalist, a reporter, a humorist, a writer and above all a trouble maker. He was known for most always having a six shooter tucked into his belt when out and about. Among many religionists there is popular support for the death penalty as a punishment for apostasy, blasphemy and atheism. There are about 20 countries where religionists use the death penalty for those who leave the religion. Some do at at the national level, some allow states and regions to do on their own, and others hand the process over to those who enforce Religionist Law. All of course places where they don’t have separation of religionists and state.
It is not so surprising that 76% of the people of Pakistan are for execution for apostasy or 84% of Egyptians. What with Boko Haram not much surprise that 51% of Nigerians are all for it either while in liberal Indonesia only 30% think one should be killed for leaving the religion.
The kicker is, are you ready, that the country with the highest number of people who believe atheists should be executed is our liberal ally and friend Jordan. Don’t mess with Jordan.
