What could be worse for American Christianity that a Pope who talks like Jesus? I dunno, it’s as bad as it gets. Jesus not only runs our board rooms, leads the Tea Party, is a life member in the NRA but gets a hardon overseeing executions in Huntsville, Texas. Oh, and he doesn’t like poor people at all.
If ever the cliche about creating God in one’s own image were to be applied, it is American evangelical Christianity most guilty of it.
