 Right Wing Hates Reagan's Immigration PlanAmerica’s immigration policy has been a dismal failure since around 1492…But never has such a national brawl taken place over it.

Find a discussion almost anywhere lately, and you’ll find a heated, xenophobic throw-down on the topic of immigration. And of course, the agent provocateurs who keep the fires of misinformation going, are hired by the  right-wing media.
Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard how ‘king or dictator’ Obama is out to ruin this great country. If he’s not smuggling in his secret Muslim brotherhood bowling team, he is  opening the doors to the (undocumented) poor, starving wretches from other shores – by the millions! Damn libral Democrat.

Just for fun, invite the loudest of your right wing acquaintances to watch the great conservative, Republican President Ronald Reagan speak on the topic of immigration. They love the Gipper you know. He was being considered for sainthood despite not being Catholic. How’s that progressing?

In this speech the Gipper freely throws open the gates of this glorious land to all! However, it  doesn’t pay to ‘peek under the hood’ at Reagan’s motives. He wanted a cheap labor force. We already had an unlivable minimum wage – so obviously immigrants had nothing to do with it, and there was a fair bit of union busting going on. This is all business as usual for the One Percent.

Republicans can’t seem to wrap their brains around how Obama’s plan is different from Reagans, although they hate the former and love the latter – go figure. . For that matter, they seem to have forgotten the details of Reagan’s green card scheme completely.

Obama isn’t saying ‘come on in’ he’s saying ‘come on OUT.’ If you’ve been here five years, have a child who was born here, or have lived here all of your life, you will get the opportunity to pay taxes! Within several years, if you are not a criminal, you will have the opportunity to be an United States Citizen. There isn’t a speck of amnesty in Obama’s plan

I regret my uneducated comments about Reagans’ acting over the years. To be fair, my opinions were based on films such as ‘Bedtime for Bonzo.’ In this speech, Reagan truly shines as the great actor he truly was. Opening the gates to welcome the poor, starving huddled masses yearning to be free is what it’s all about, and Reagan convinces us that his actions are altruistic. In his great Republican breast beats a bleeding heart that welcomes the world to our shining shores!  No one says it better than the Gipper himself. See Below, please.
