As displaced Green Bay Packer fans if we want to see all the games each year we often have to go to a dedicated “Packer Bar” here in Houston to watch the game which is not on cable. It is of course lots of fun with a few hundred people all dressed in green and gold wearing funny hats and getting drunk at noon. They have a table full of free brats and sauerkraut, a DJ who plays polkas during ads, raffles for Packer paraphernalia and lots of kids. Family fair.
Over the years I have probably talked to most everyone of them, well after the first pitcher or two anyway, to find that unexpectedly, only a very few of them are from Wisconsin as I am. Who are they then? And where are they from? There is a cultural name for them which I bet a few of you will know, but for others the answer is at the end of the Bill Mayer Kellyanne Conway article.
